william was born on June 3rd, 1780 in Blockley, Worcestershire, , England.  William's father was William Keen and his mother was Mary Evans.  His paternal grandparents were Samuel Keen and Alice Wells. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Charles, Samuel, Silas, Jonathon, Phoebe, Mary and Arabella.  He was the oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 72 on December 29th, 1852 in Worcester, Worcestershire, , England.
