Silas was born on April 7th, 1787 in Stow, Oxford, Maine, USA. Silas' father was William Keen and his mother was Mary Evans. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Keen and Alice Wells. He had four brothers and three sisters, named william, Charles, Samuel, Jonathon, Phoebe, Mary and Arabella. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 63 on May 5th, 1850 in Stow On The Wold, Gloucestershire, , England.
