Charles Manton was born on May 13th, 1849 in Brockley, Worcestershire, , England.1   Charles Manton's father was William Keen and his mother was Elizabeth Manton.  His paternal grandparents were william keen and hanah nichols; his maternal grandparents were Charles Manton and Mary Chamberlain. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named William Henry, Frederick George, Silas, George, Peter, James, Albert Edward, Jane Elizabeth, Annie, Susan Cecily and Elizabeth.  He was the second oldest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 80 on November 7th, 1929 in Enfield, , New South Wales, Australia.
